We are women of Australia calling on the Australian government to set a stronger 2035 emissions reduction target for a cleaner and safer future. Your target of 62 to 70 percent by 2035 is not ambitious enough.
This decision will shape the lives and futures of every single Australian. We are asking you to please be courageous and set an emissions reduction target of minimum 75 per cent by 2035.
Australia is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of fossil fuels and this has to change.
The science is clear – there can be no more fossil fuel approvals or expansions. Your own National Climate Risk Assessment highlights the devastating impacts on our communities if we do not take bold action now.
